Bode’s filmmaking journey began with
apprenticeships under notable celebrity
photographers like George Holz and Mark
Mann. Growing up in the rural high desert
near Reno, Nevada, she balanced artistic
ambitions with the economic limitations of
her surroundings. Her entrepreneurial spirit
led her to various art projects, including
mural painting in Williamsburg, Brooklyn,
and photographing cultural catalysts like
artists, dancers, and musicians.

Bode views filmmaking as a process of
becoming, creating works that illuminate
individual, communal, and ecosystemic
potential while engaging with the existential
enchantments of the universe.
